13:30–15:00 – Block II
Block I (2 x 45 min):
Why argue?
When does argumentation work?
How to argue?
Block II (2 x 45 min):
How to critically assess the media we consume daily?
How to spot and avoid demagoguery in the media?
How to respond when a conversation partner uses demagoguery?
In today’s information-saturated environment, it is essential to understand what makes information trustworthy and opinions well-founded – and what does not. The goal of this training is to provide participants with that understanding.
The session begins with a focus on arguments – how to recognize and use them –followed by information analysis and demagoguery. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge through various practical exercises.
This is a longer and more in-depth version of the training on critical thinking and demagoguery.
